Unifying Innovative Communities and Inspiring Change: The Resounding Success of the Event


The Blockchain DevFest Hackathon, held on June 25, 2023, brought together talented developers and

blockchain enthusiasts from around the world. The event aimed to foster innovation, collaboration, and

exploration of blockchain technology's potential across various domains. Participants showcased their

skills and creativity by developing cutting-edge blockchain projects during the intense 2- weeks

hackathon.

Winning Projects:


1. Project: Yob by Muhindo Galien


Description:

Yob secured the first place and It is a revolutionary ticket booking Dapp that leverages blockchain

technology to offer secure, fast, and decentralized transactions for online ticket bookings. By utilizing

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) with auto-generated QR codes, Yob ensures the authenticity and uniqueness of each ticket.

With Yob, users can easily browse and explore a wide range of events and conveniently purchase ticketsdirectly through the smart contract. All transactions are recorded on the blockchain, providing

transparency and immutability. This eliminates the need for intermediaries, reducing costs and

streamlining the ticketing process.


Event organizers can effortlessly add event details such as ticket prices and the number of available

tickets. Yob empowers organizers with a user-friendly interface to manage their events, ensuring accurate tracking and efficient ticket distribution.




In addition, Yob integrates with Worldcoin and base, allowing users to view the minted NFT tickets and

verify their authenticity. This further enhances trust and security in the ticketing ecosystem.

The purpose of this Yob is to provide a platform for the sale and purchase of event tickets, Users can

purchase tickets for events through the smart contract and their purchases will be recorded and tracked.




2. Project: AI NFT Generator


Description:

The AI NFT Generator project secured the second place in the hackathon. From the description provided

by the image is created by the stable diffussion AI and the image data is sent back to the website . The

image is captured and uploaded to nft.storage to be stored on ipfs. The image URI is sent back to website and the mint function of the nft smart contract is called and the nft URL and name are passed in asvariables.

AI Nft generator integrates with Worldcoin and base where the nft minter is charged 1 eth for minting the

nft and the eth is stored in the contract until the the deployer of the smart contract calls the withdraw

function.



3. Project: Nyumbayo App by Angella Mulikatete


Description:

The Nyumbayo App project secured the third place in the hackathon. This project aimed to address a

specific problem in the real estate industry by leveraging blockchain technology. A mobile Dapp that

streamlines rent and electricity payment management for shared meters, Provides accurate individual

billing based on power consumption, Enables tenants to raise complaints directly to landlords for prompt

resolution.


Nyumbayo leverages the power of blockchain technology to enhance the system's transparency, security,

and efficiency.

  1. Rent and electricity payment transactions are recorded on a secure and tamper-proof blockchain ledger, ensuring transparency and eliminating disputes.

  2. Smart contracts automate and enforce rental agreements, ensuring fair and transparent execution.

  3. Blockchain provides a secure and decentralized identity verification system, streamlining the rental application process and enhancing data privacy.

  4. Blockchain securely records energy consumption data from shared meters, ensuring accuracy in billing and preventing tampering.



4. Project: The Social Farmer Dapp, by Kakooza Vianney


Description:

The social farmer secured the forth place and it is a Web3 Dapp developed for farmers to interact and

socialize with other farmers and also access market for their produce through socializing on . With the power of lens protocol, farmers can create publications for given stages in their farming lifecycles to

trigger action with beneficiaries and stake holders. For example, they can mint

an NFT in case of need for resources and give a promise to those that own the minted NFT for the

investment made to be partakers of the profits during harvesting seasons. This can be a win win situation for both parties. Farmers can be tracked through the platform based on their reputation and those

following them.


Through this platform, farmers can also be contacted directly during the harvesting season from buyers

hence making them to get better prices for their produce. Consumers can also connect directly with

farmers and can know what exactly is the life cycle of the produce.
