We all have days when we wake up with a ton of ideas; sometimes we act on them, sometimes we don't, but what if your whole existence—your career, your happiness, and your mental peace—depended on your ability to generate and act upon ideas? Well, my buddy, that is exactly how a football coach lives.
Mikel Arteta took over as manager of Arsenal in December 2019, but we believed he had the least chance of succeeding given the number of seasoned managers out there, including Allegri, who was unemployed at the time. You know, we all assumed that being Pep's assistant wouldn't get you very far. The Arsenal hierarchy disagreed and trusted his suggestions to revive the faltering club. A few months later, the guy won the FA and the Community Shield, two trophies.
Just when everyone felt it was time for Arsenal to win a big award, the manager altered what works to what no one recognizes. Arsenal have gone from eighth, to eighth, fifth, and most recently second. We thought he was going to go for the first position but he has instead chosen to make a few contentious adjustments to the team. The strongest proponent of "trusting the process" is under increasing pressure from all sides.
Do I comprehend his actions? Not quite. Do I believe in the process? Yes. I developed this trust after becoming disinterested in watching games the season before because I could accurately predict each move the team made, and I would often think to myself, "The opposition knows this too." Consequently, my friends, if the man's goal was to eradicate predictability, he currently has me in his grasp since I am perplexed and unable to comprehend what he means to achieve.
In innovation, we have two groups of people i.e. the 0 to 1 and the 1 to n groups.
The 0 to 1 group takes a seat with paper and a pen, brainstorms completely original ideas, and has the audacity to pursue their goals. These include figures from many disciplines throughout the world including Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Johan Cruyff, and others. Around the world, they are revered as the originators of several concepts. These are the individuals who dared to see and implement what others would not.
The 1 to n group, on the other hand, acquires pre-made concepts and restructures them to accomplish different goals based on the 0 to 1 baseline. Many people across the world fit into this category, with businesspeople making up the majority. They are still regarded as geniuses in their own right and are brilliant in their own right. The bulk are entrepreneurs.
Arteta's risk includes both strategies; he has multiplied his success while also experiencing loss. Currently, everyone is opposing him. We are yet to find out if he was correct and if he will win the trophy, but from an inventive standpoint, he has continued to use the 0 to 1 technique while simultaneously adopting the 1 to n strategy.
Arteta is overrated!!
